Sacred1 is rooted in the belief that all things are interconnected—a philosophy Tom Jensen carries forward from his mentors, Rainbow Roy Holloway and Janice Young. Roy’s guidance in shamanic sound healing and his deep reverence for nature shaped Tom’s approach, instilling in him the understanding that sound is more than vibration; it is a bridge to healing, presence, and oneness. Through Sacred1, Tom continues this lineage, seeking to weave storytelling, ancestral traditions, and nature’s rhythms into his journeys, creating a space for transformation, reflection, and connection.

Rainbow Roy Holloway was a beloved teacher, spiritual guide, and visionary whose impact on the sound healing world continues to resonate through his many students. Roy’s life was dedicated to living in harmony with nature, and his teachings emphasized the interconnectedness of all things, believing that everything in existence is a part of a greater whole. His wisdom and compassionate presence have touched countless lives, and his legacy is carried on by those like Tom Jensen, who continue his work and embody his teachings.
Roy's sanctuary, the Spirit Lodge on Thetis Island, British-Columbia, was where his sacred sound journeys took place for many years. The circular structure of the Lodge became a revered space for profound healing, where Roy hosted shamanic ceremonies and sound healing rituals. Together with his musical partner Janice Young, Roy welcomed people into this space every winter for a series of elemental vibrational journey works, which spanned six months. It was here that Tom Jensen first encountered sound healing, and where he began his deep journey into the practice, learning from Roy’s wisdom and teachings.
Roy’s approach to sound healing was rooted in simplicity and reverence for the natural world. He was a true believer in the healing power of sound as a universal force, and through his guidance, Tom came to understand how vibration could be used to heal and reconnect with the Spirit.
When Roy transitioned in 2019, his passing was deeply felt by all who knew him. In his final days, Roy shared a powerful message, smiling brightly as he opened his arms, saying, "I am one with all of this; therefore, I will live on forever." This moment encapsulated his life philosophy. Following Roy’s passing, Tom and his close friends celebrated his life in an extraordinary way. They built sacred altars in his honor and sang some of his favorite songs, then ventured to the top of Apex Mountain, where they howled at the mountain’s peak in tribute to Roy’s spirit. Tom renamed one of their favorite runs "Roy’s Way" in honor of his mentor.
Roy’s teachings about the oneness of all things, the importance of love, peace, and connection, continue to inspire Tom as he moves forward in his own musical practice, ensuring that Roy’s legacy remains alive in every journey Tom guides.

Tom Jensen is a dedicated sound weaver and guide whose personal journey with ceremonial sound rituals began nearly two decades ago. His early exposure to music came primarily through his father, who played first violin in the Northumberland Symphony, and his uncle, who taught him to play the drums at the age of 10. As he grew, Tom’s love for music deepened, and he began performing with Canadian songwriting legends like Willie P. Bennett and Pat Temple, solidifying his foundation in rhythm and composition.
However, it wasn’t until he attended a sound healing event on Thetis Island in 2007 that Tom’s path as a sound guide began to unfold. At the time, Tom was navigating through unresolved childhood trauma and anxiety. This quest for inner peace brought him to the teachings of Rainbow Roy Holloway, a mentor whose teachings would forever transform his life.
Roy’s Spirit Lodge on Thetis Island became a sacred space for Tom, where he immersed himself in musical ceremonies and sound healing practices. Under Roy’s guidance, Tom learned how to use sound as a tool for healing and embracing the profound connection between all things. Over the years, Tom participated in many of Roy's elemental vibrational journey works, always making a commitment to attend the full six-month series each winter.
Tom spent almost two decades studying under Roy, and as the teachings of his mentor began to take root, his own healing journey unfolded. Having faced his own trauma and anxiety, Tom found that sound healing helped him to regulate his nervous system, bringing peace and balance. His deep connection to nature, music, and the energy of the Earth became the foundation for his own unique sound ritual practice.
In 2017, Tom experienced the loss of his father to cancer. This loss, compounded by his years of study with Roy, catalyzed a deeper transformation in his life. Roy’s teachings were instrumental in his healing process, and in many ways, Roy became a spiritual father to Tom. As Roy’s transition to the Spirit world became imminent in 2019, Tom was given the honor of leading his first ceremony in Roy’s honor, marking a deeply personal and spiritual moment in his life.
Over the years, Tom has developed a unique looping technique using nature sounds and his own recordings. His growing collection of natural sounds harvested from his travels—captured from forests, rivers, and mountains—adds an additional layer to his sound journeys, making his practice distinct and deeply immersive.
Tom’s work is grounded in a deep respect for nature and the healing wisdom it offers. His sound practice is not just about relaxation, it is about guiding individuals to reconnect with their true essence, the rhythms of the earth, and the sacred energy that flows through all things.
Through his ongoing journey, Tom is continuously inspired by the natural world and by the legacy of his beloved mentor, Roy. His work is a heartfelt offering to all those who seek peace, healing, and transformation, and through Sacred1 and his co-lead ceremonies with Janice Young, Tom continues to honor Roy’s teachings by helping others reconnect with themselves and the sacred pulse of the earth.
