MUSIC FLOWS WHERE WORDS CANNOT REACH
Have you ever heard a melody that felt so familiar, your body recognized it before your mind did?
Has a specific vibration or rhythm ever helped you release emotions you didn’t even know you were holding onto?
Have you ever been so deeply moved by a traditional song that you felt an instant longing to rekindle with your cultural heritage?

A UNIQUE, HEALING SOUNDSCAPE
Sacred1 is rooted in the belief that all things are interconnected—a philosophy Tom Jensen carries forward from his teacher, Rainbow Roy Holloway. Roy’s guidance in shamanic sound healing and his deep reverence for nature shaped Tom’s approach, instilling in him the understanding that sound is more than vibration; it is a bridge to healing, presence, and oneness. Through Sacred1, Tom continues this lineage, seeking to weave storytelling, ancestral traditions, and nature’s rhythms into his journeys, creating a space for transformation, reflection, and connection.
Tom Jensen’s sound healing practice is unique in its approach to integrating both live sound and pre-recorded natural sounds, creating an immersive and dynamic healing environment. While traditional sound journeys often focus primarily on a singular source of sound, Tom layers carefully curated nature recordings—such as flowing rivers, birdsong, and wind—with live instruments, using a loop station to create a multi-dimensional soundscape. This approach enhances the therapeutic benefits of sound by offering a deeper, more expansive connection to the rhythms of nature and the body. Roy Holloway taught Tom that the understanding of interconnectedness extends far beyond the boundaries of ceremony. He emphasized that the principles and wisdom found in sacred rituals should be integrated into daily life, encouraging Tom to carry the same reverence, mindfulness, and awareness into every moment. According to Roy, the unity of all things is not just a concept for ritual spaces, but a guiding truth that should inform how we live, connect, and interact with the world around us every day.
Rainbow Roy Holloway was a beloved teacher, spiritual guide, and visionary whose impact on the sound healing world continues to resonate through his many students. Roy’s life was dedicated to living in harmony with nature, and his teachings emphasized the interconnectedness of all things, believing that everything in existence is a part of a greater whole. His wisdom and compassionate presence have touched countless lives, and his legacy is carried on by those like Tom Jensen, who continue his work and embody his teachings.
Roy's sanctuary, the Spirit Lodge on Thetis Island, British-Columbia, was where his sacred sound journeys took place for many years. The circular structure of the Lodge became a revered space for profound healing, where Roy hosted shamanic ceremonies and sound healing rituals. Together with his partner Janice Young, Roy welcomed people into this space every winter for a series of elemental vibrational journey works, which spanned six months. It was here that Tom Jensen first encountered sound healing, and where he began his deep journey into the practice, learning from Roy’s wisdom and teachings.
Roy’s approach to sound healing was rooted in simplicity and reverence for the natural world. He was a true believer in the healing power of sound as a universal force, and through his guidance, Tom came to understand how vibration could be used to heal and reconnect with the Spirit.
When Roy transitioned in 2024, his passing was deeply felt by all who knew him. In his final days, Roy shared a powerful message, smiling brightly as he opened his arms, saying, "I am one with all of this; therefore, I will live on forever." This moment encapsulated his life philosophy. Following Roy’s passing, Tom and his close friends celebrated his life in an extraordinary way. They built sacred altars in his honor and sang some of his favorite songs, then ventured to the top of Apex Mountain, where they howled at the mountain’s peak in tribute to Roy’s spirit. Tom renamed one of their favorite runs "Roy’s Way" in honor of his mentor.
Roy’s teachings about the oneness of all things, the importance of love, peace, and connection, continue to inspire Tom as he moves forward in his own musical practice, ensuring that Roy’s legacy remains alive in every journey Tom guides.
The loop station is key to Tom’s practice, enabling him to create evolving soundscapes that change in real time, giving participants a deeply engaging and living sonic experience. These nature-based recordings, collected over years of exploration, invite individuals to reconnect with the earth’s natural vibrations, guiding them into a deep state of relaxation and at times, emotional release. This combination of live music and natural sounds fosters a sense of grounding while also offering an expansive, transformative experience.
Tom’s sessions go beyond simple sound therapy—he creates a space where individuals can truly explore their inner landscapes. The sessions are designed to facilitate emotional clarity, insights, and a sense of connection,
making them ideal for those seeking to reset their nervous system and find a sense of balance within the self. Each journey is an opportunity to align with the body's natural rhythms and tap into the power of sound for healing and personal growth.
In the future, Tom envisions expanding his offerings to include immersive experiences, such as retreats, that would combine sound healing with other holistic practices like yoga, acupuncture, breathwork, and healthy nourishment. His current work, however, is deeply focused on creating individual sound journeys that provide profound, transformative experiences, offering a safe space for personal healing and connection to the world around us. Through this unique blend of nature sounds, live music, and intentional healing, Tom’s sound journeys invite participants to reconnect with the sacred in themselves and the world.

A collaborative project by Tom Jensen and Joannie Corriveau, Stories in Rhythm is a unique sound ritual and concert series that takes participants on four distinct musical journeys over a period of four weeks (and sometimes within a shorter time window). Designed to promote deep personal transformation and inner reflection on community and culture, this immersive musical experience is meant to inspire, nurture, move, and rekindle the Wild Soul within each of us.
This one-of-a-kind sound bath experience and performance blends modern and traditional live instruments with a looping station featuring over a hundred pre-recorded natural sounds. Unlike any other sound healing ceremony, Stories in Rhythm is at the intersection of sound therapy, nature connection through sound, energy work, live music performance and cultural reckoning.
